Sweed’s Response to Covid 19

Dear Valued Customers and Vendors,

First and foremost, we hope you, your family, and friends are all well and that the current personal and business challenges you now face from COVID-19 will be minimal and fleeting.

We want to reassure you Sweed Machinery continues to be fully operational and that we are closely monitoring the situation to ensure our actions support CDC-recommended best practices. We are taking all necessary steps to ensure the health and safety of our customers, colleagues, and employees.

Operations:

  • Sweed remains fully operational on all levels.
  • Supply chain monitoring – inventory and materials are at appropriate levels.
  • There are no changes in our shipping or logistics capabilities. Our goal remains to continue providing our customers with the products and services they need to stay productive.

Person-to-Person Contact:

  • We have implemented social distancing in the workplace.
  • High use workstations, kitchens, and restrooms are sanitized regularly.
  • We will continue to receive deliveries as scheduled while maintaining reasonable social distancing.
  • We ask that all non-scheduled vendors suspend onsite visits. Please reach out to your Sweed representative to arrange alternative plans.

Our History

It all started with an imported gang saw. After WWII, three brothers from Germany migrated to the United States and built a sawmill on Galls Creek in Gold Hill, Oregon. Dissatisfied with the imported gang saw they were using, they decided they could make a better saw themselves.
